Who Are We?

The Kilimanjaro Development Center is a tree planting and educational project, managed by two non-governmental organizations (NGOs) – the PDAid Foundation and The Big Climb.

Set on 10 acres of land north of Loitokitok, Kenya, the center is a multi-purpose project where youth groups from disenfranchised communities in East Africa, and beyond, will have an opportunity to experience the great outdoors and receive educational support.

Phoenix Design Aid is excited to announce that our

Phoenix Design Aid is excited to announce that our CEO, Dennis Lundø Nielsen, has signed a contract authorising the first two stages of the Kilimanjaro Development Center Project.

The Kilimanjaro Development Center is a tree planting and educational project that includes the construction of an outdoor learning centre to be used by the PDAid Foundation Association and The Big Climb to run programs for local Kenyan youth.

The signing of the contract is a significant step in the lifespan of the project. Using the initial designs from Danish architecture firm Caspersen & Krogh, the local Kenyan architect from EQA Build will begin the process of realising the project on the land Phoenix Design Aid has purchased.

Phoenix Design Aid is eager to follow the progress of the project and will continue to update our followers as more exciting steps are taken.

We are happy to share a case that Phoenix Design A

We are happy to share a case that Phoenix Design Aid completed for Columbia University. Phoenix Design Aid was selected to design the first-ever annual report for the Columbia Global initiative which was inaugurated in 2023.

The design portrays the innovative and modern approach of the initiative and also displays the diverse student body of the institution. The graphics included in the report also played an important role in communicating the activities of the initiative and the mission of the university. To learn more, follow the link in our bio.

Happy International Women’s Day from Phoenix Design Aid! #InternationalWomensDay

Phoenix Design Aid is excited to celebrate all women around the world. This year, the theme for International Women’s Day is “Invest in women: Accelerate progress” with five key areas – one of them focuses on the investment of women as a human rights issue.

We #InvestinWomen and have a particular focus on #GenderEquality as a part of our commitment to #HumanRights which is evident in, for example, our support of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (#WEPs) as well as the Confederation of the Danish Industry’s (Dansk Industri) Diversity Pledge.

More than half of our workforce are women, and we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all the women working at Phoenix Design Aid. Thank you for all your great efforts!

OPEN HOUSE OF UNDP'S REGIONAL SERVICE CENTRE FOR AFRICA #OpenHouseRSCA

On 15-16 February 2024, @undp Regional Service Centre for Africa held an Open House event in Addis Ababa where decision-makers and leaders engaged in dialogues around peace, security, regional integration and development.

Phoenix Design Aid had the pleasure of providing design and exhibition services to help create a visually inspiring and engaging environment for all participants. Watch the video to see some before and after snapshots of the event venue.

Congratulations to our partners at #UNDPRCSA on this successful event. We look forward to following the outcomes.

LAUNCH OF THE SAHEL HUMAN DEVELOPMENT REPORT 2023

Phoenix Design Aid is proud to have supported the United Nations Development Programme (@undp) with the design of the Sahel Human Development Report 2023 #SahelHDR.

Phoenix Design Aid was in charge of the design, editing and translation of the report which was launched at the #OpenHouseRSCA in Addis Ababa on 16 February 2024.

The report explores, for example, governance dimensions of human development and the region’s sustainable development progress as well as provides insights into enhancing sustainable energy access, among other things.

Phoenix Design Aid is excited to announce that we recently undertook our annual audit of our three ISO certificates within Quality Management #ISO9001, Environmental Management #ISO14001 and Occupational Health and Safety Management, #ISO45001 as well as our certification in 11 targets within four Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including #SDG4, #SDG12, #SDG13 and #SDG17.

We are glad and proud to announce that the audit was successful. We were found to fully conform to all of our ISO standards and SDG certificate with no deviations made or remarks for improvement.

During the audit on 19 February 2024, the auditors from DNV interviewed employees from across Phoenix Design Aid’s locations to get a thorough understanding of the company, our set-up, activities and services.

We received some great insights and feedback that we look forward to working on.

PHOENIX DESIGN AID SUPPORTS NIIS

Phoenix Design Aid is proud to support the Danish non-profit association Niis, which helps refugees and immigrants in Denmark find opportunities in the Danish education system and labour market. Niis’ goal is to help individuals to develop their full potential. Their services include help with, for example, writing CVs and applications, job interview training and finding internships.

Phoenix Design Aid supported Niis with the printing of 400 brochures and 800 business cards. They visited the office on 15th January, where CEO Dennis Lundoe Nielsen and Communication Specialist Azra Mujacic presented them with the printed materials and chatted about their work. It was wonderful to hear what Niis has achieved.

Meet Isaac David Sanchez Vergel! Phoenix Design A

Meet Isaac David Sanchez Vergel!

Phoenix Design Aid is excited to introduce our new Digital Project Manager, Isaac. Isaac began at Phoenix Design Aid in October 2023 and is based at our office in Valencia, Spain.

Isaac brings over 6 years of experience in managing creative processes to this role. He has a background in coordinating website and application projects which has provided him with an excellent understanding of project management. Further, Isaac also brings valuable experience in the banking sector, including experience managing large corporate accounts.

At Phoenix Design Aid, Isaac comments that he looks forward to “managing large projects with a deep meaning in our society. I want to help make a positive impact on the lives of millions while learning about all these initiatives and ongoing organizations. I have enjoyed how welcoming everyone at PDAid has been with me. [I am] thrilled to be part of this multi-diverse organization, spread worldwide!”

In his spare time, Isaac enjoys playing sports, especially football and cycling. He also enjoys travelling and getting to know new places and people. Please join us in welcoming Isaac to the Phoenix Design Aid team!
